If Shelby ever did something close to a monster truck, this would be it. It’s called the 2016 Shelby F-150 and it’s currently on display at SEMA.
Shelby’s newest creation came to life in a collaboration with Tuscany Motor Co. Team. It has that unique paint finish covering its body which makes is instantly recognizable. The blue shade is complemented by the double white stripes found on its entire length and by the decals added to the lower door side of the doors.
Changes also include the 18-inch custom Shelby wheels wrapped in next-gen BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires, a custom-tuned performance suspension system made by Shelby, Fox shocks and BDS Suspension. This allows the driver to further tweak handling on different terrain and driving conditions.
It wouldn’t be a proper Shelby vehicle without a power upgrade so since it has a similar 5.0l V8 engine as the one in the new Mustang, it’s bringing an optional supercharger, including an oversized cold air intake, aluminum heat exchanger, billet aluminum high flow throttle body, updated calibration and higher flowing fuel injectors.
Modifications don’t stop here as the pickup truck is also packing a Borla dual exhaust system, custom-tuned and black-tipped, which is not only adding a few extra horses to the equation, but it’s also providing a better sound. The total output is now 700 HP (710 PS) compared to the stock Ford model’s 395 HP (401 PS).
Shelby American will offer 500 units of the 2016 F-150 through select Ford dealers, with the normally aspirated, 395HP Shelby F-150 starting at $85,495,and the 700HP supercharged version at $98,995.
