Unveiled in October 2014, the Mercedes AMG GT is still a fresh, exotic sight to behold, especially if it comes in some tuner-enhanced suit.
That’s because the AMG GT hasn’t been around long enough to receive a proper wide, ridiculous body-kit, and few aftermarket specialists are prepared to spoil the car’s cool look (at least for now). Even Wald, a tuner known for its eccentric style, has performed only a few (almost subtle) modifications to the car’s aspect.
So, if you have an AMG GT and wish to upgrade it to appear more incisive, there aren’t a lot of options to choose from; unless you go for Wald’s approach, obviously.
With a revised front apron, new side skirts, and an extensive redesigned rear bumper (complete with a new diffuser and large exhaust tips), the AMG GT sits on a nice big set of rims, and it looks nice and dynamically-chiseled. Stylistically speaking, the Merc’s new outfit emphasizes its sporty nature, rather the GT side. Sure, it may not very well be for everyone – because Wald’s style rarely is – but at least, the Japanese tuner tried its best to put its distinctive signature on the car’s body: The Black Bison.
Engine-wise, we’re not entirely sure if Wald kept the 4.0-litre twin-turbo stock, but we’ll find out soon, as the tuner will eventually make the entire package available.
