This is Renault’s latest immersive video, and it’s a 3-minute 360-degree reproduction of a UK Clio Cup race, filmed at the Rockingham Motor Speedway.

Renault is also emphasizing that they are one of the first brands to use this technology within Facebook, driven by the notion of offering their fans a taste of being in the middle of an action-packed Clio Cup race. In case you’re not spoiled for choice, you can either view the video on your desktop, or on your iOS/Android mobile device.

The viewing angles are pretty good, starting off with the front grille, the driver’s seat and finally an aerial view which takes us to the end of the race basically.

While on your smartphone, you just tilt the device up, down, left and right in order to change perspective. It’s a fun and interactive way to experience the Clio Cup race car – which is a pretty cool machine in and of itself, good for 220 HP and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque.

The car also comes with AP Racing 320mm ventilated discs at the front and 260mm solid discs at the rear, which is normal seen as how this is a front-wheel drive model.

According to Aiden White, Renault UK Digital Communications Manager, “To watch a Clio Cup race car fly around the track is a special sight, but to see it from behind the wheel is even better. This outstanding 360-degree footage thrusts viewers into the heart of the action and lets them experience this exceptional car at race speed.”

Now, even if you do have your choice of devices on which to view this video, our advice is that you use whichever mobile device is handy, because tilting it yourself is a lot more satisfying than using a mouse or a laptop track pad.
