With its annual “Year in Search” report, Google revealed the most “hot” topics searched in 2015, in the US. We’re more interested in the cars that spiked interest in the past 12 months, and the results may surprise you.

That’s because the most searched automobile of 2015, according to the American tech company, is the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. You probably expected a multi-million-dollar supercar, but apparently the fair looking, $22,500 based-price Malibu is on top of the list, drawing attention with its price, standard equipment and looks. To be fair, its LT hybrid variant comes very well equipped and with a $28,645 price tag.

The second most googled vehicle of 2015 is another Chevrolet, this time the Silverado. To be honest, the American car manufacturer has come up with a wide array for Silverados all year long; ranging from the facelifted 2016 1500 pick-ups, all the way to the SEMA-tuned variants. It’s been a busy year for Chevrolet and its full-size truck, and it shows.

Completing the three top spots, is the combo-braking Toyota Tacoma, a $23,300 based-priced truck, waiting for a chance to prove itself on the mid-size pick-up front. The most you can get out of is a 4×4, Atkinson V6 variant with 278hp and 265lb-ft (359Nm) of torque.

If it wasn’t for the Tacoma, then Chevrolet would’ve taken the first three places. With the Camaro coming in in fourth, it’s easy to understand why the car was heavily searched on Google. It has a little bit of everything, plus some extras for true petrolheads.
