After witnessing such a bone-headed accident, it’s hard to make up any excuse for a guy who let himself be fooled by the road he was driving on.

Just for kicks though, we could try to make a case for mistakenly getting into that specific lane, initially. It can easily happen to somebody who doesn’t know the road, and is driving through a particular intersection for the very first time, right?

But yes, once the two vehicles find themselves on a collision course, there’s still plenty of time for either driver to take evasive action.

Also for kicks, let’s play a little game called “How many lanes are actually there?” Is it wrong to think that it’s somewhat unclear who’s at fault here at first? Because at first glance we thought there were three lanes for each side of the road. But then, you’ve got 4 different indicators on the ride side of the road, where two of them could be for the middle lane or each for its own lane. Confusing much?

On top of that, you don’t have a visible continuous line splitting any of the lanes and that can indeed throw somebody off their game if they’re unsure what on earth is happening in that intersection – basically meaning it’s your first time driving through it, like we mentioned before.

So who’s to blame here, the dashcam car (probably a van or a small truck) or the small Hyundai? As soon as the crash happens, you’ll get a clear view at some road markings which should clarify things, but honestly now, this one was quite a head-scratcher.

Why did both driver react so late to what was about to happen?
