The 308 has one of the most recognizable shapes in Ferrari history and in 2015, it represents great value for enthusiasts. This particular example we stumbled upon on eBay has an asking price of just $149,995 despite being a specially built race example.

Starting out with a standard 308, the car has been extensively modified by Huffakar Engineering in the United States and was built for use in the IMSA GTU Competition. It has been adorned with exterior pieces inspired by the iconic 288 GTO and comes with a heavily modified engine from the 308 GTB with 390 hp on tap at a buzzing 9600 rpm.

Underpinning the car is a completely custom chassis from Huffakar incorporating inboard rocker arm type suspension offering extensive adjustability. There is also a Hewland DGB300 transaxle, Alcon brake calipers with Coleman Racing Products 13-inch discs and built-in AP Racing air jacks. A set of 16-inch BBS three-piece, center-locking wheels are also featured.

Some of the key engine modifications include forged connecting rods, billet camshafts, adjustable camshaft pulleys, titanium retainers, a new electronic fuel injection system, forged pistons and a bespoke ECU.

Unlike many other Ferrari racing cars, this one has barely been used. As a matter of fact, it only ever competed at a handful of private track days, two regional SCCA races and a track day hosted by the Ferrari Club of America.
