Typically, facelifted models are quite boring. Whether it’s a mid-life update for a Toyota Corolla or a Porsche, changes are typically limited to small styling tweaks and perhaps some performance and fuel efficiency improvements. With the facelifted Ferrari FF however, the marque has revealed it has a surprise up its sleeve.

Tipped to debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 in March, the facelifted FF has been spied testing in the past adorned with refreshed bodywork more reflective of Ferrari’s latest model, the 488 GTB. One of the most noticeable design changes are expected to be taillights very similar to those of the 488.

While speaking with Indian Autos Blog recently, senior vice-president for commercial and marketing at Ferrari SpA, Enrico Galliera said that in order to adequately innovate the car, it is planning something special.

“FF is one of the car that allowed us to satisfy the growing need of our clients,” Galleria said. “Of course, we’re working to further innovate the car, it’s too early to say when and how. But our clients will have surprise in the future.”

Importantly, Galliera also confirmed that, despite the 488 adopting forced-induction, the facelifted FF will retain the current model’s naturally-aspirated V12. However, it seems inevitable that power will be lifted from the current 660 hp mark to around 700 hp.
