Not long after images and preliminary details about a Koenigsegg Agera R crashing in China emerged, footage showing the moment of impact has surfaced online.

It is hard to say just how the crash was captured but based on the position of the camera, it was likely a CCTV security camera looking down at the road. Whatever the case may be, it shows that the crash involving the Swedish hypercar was far more severe than we originally thought.

In the video, the driver of the Agera R can be seen suddenly loosing control of the car, likely after abruptly pinning the throttle. The car then shoots towards the metal railing on the side of the road where it hits head-on sending the Agera R into a violent spin. The impact also rips open the rear clamshell before the car is propelled backwards into the centre of the road.

The exact cause of the crash isn’t known but according to some reports, alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Koenigsegg Agera R in question is the 82nd model ever produced by the niche hypercar maker and is believed to be owned by a local collector who also has a Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder in his collection.

Based on this video and previously posted images, the owner’s insurance company will definitely be up for a hefty repair bill.
