The festive season is well and truly upon us and Jaguar has made the most of this by revealing a modern-day sleigh inspired by the F-Type. It is no ordinary Christmas sleigh though and is in fact an ice-sculpture.
Dubbed the Jaguar F-Sleigh, it was revealed yesterday at the London Edition hotel, to help celebrate the launch of the 2016 merchandise collections from Jaguar Land Rover. Despite not being life-size, it similarities to the F-Type Convertible are obvious with a familiar, elongated front end alongside sleek headlights and taillights.
Also rather than wheels, the F-Sleigh sits on a set of ice skates and has been adorned with two icy ‘jet engines’ to make it much faster than Santa could ever hope for.
While just a bit of fun for Jaguar Land Rover, the unveiling of the F-Sleigh does help to demonstrate its expansion beyond just producing cars and into its world of merchandise. For 2016, the automaker will offer a selection of 1:8 scale models of some of its finest ever cars, including the 1957 XKSS while the Jaguar Land Rover collection also includes heritage-inspired apparel and a range of branded accessories.
According to Jaguar Land Rover director of branded and licensed goods Lindsay Weaver “The amazing F-Sleigh may be a bit of Christmas fun, but it proves that Jaguar Land Rover is now creating much more than world-class cars. We have been working tirelessly to develop collections that tell stories and celebrate our great brands, and this 2016 collection is our most desirable ever – we’ve really pushed ahead for design, quality and originality and it’s great to showcase it alongside the luxury goods being produced by our exclusive brand partners.”
