Volkswagen is setting the holiday season mood with a Christmas card featuring Santa Claus and its Passat Alltrack.

Amid the “dieselgate” scandal, which will probably be mentioned for years to come, Europe’s largest automaker is placing the rugged version of the Passat into the spotlights, detailing its versatility, interior, increased ride height and all-wheel drive system.

The Passat Alltrack is not only a sporty touring vehicle but also the perfect partner for off-road excursions. It’s nice to see that Santa Claus has spotted this as well“, wrote the automaker in its press statement.

Volkswagen offers the Passat Alltrack from €38,550 ($41,775), in its local market, with two turbo petrol units, 1.4 TSI 150PS and 2.0 TSI 220PS, added to the three 2.0-liter TDIs, with 150PS, 190PS and 240PS. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed dual-clutch.

All versions of the jacked-up estate have an “Off Road” function, along with the Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes, and bring the Front Assist, Lane Assist and Driver Alert System as well. The estate has a towing capability of up to 2,200kg (4,850lbs) braked and it was unveiled earlier this year, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
