Mercedes-Benz is still testing the new GLC Coupe, with a prototpe model caught on camera. The sportier-shaped version of the new GLC, itself a successor to the GLK, is Mercedes’ rival to the BMW X4.

The tester was wearing light camouflage on its front and rear ends, suggesting modified styling over the regular GLC, along with a sloping roofline.

The two models will share the same interior and range of four-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, including a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline, rated at 241hp (244PS) and 273lb-ft (370Nm) of torque, used on the GLK’s successor in North America. The V6 twin-turbo with 329hp (333PS) and 362hp (376PS) from the C400 and c450 AMG Sport are also expected to make their way into the lineup.

The GLC will reportedly spawn a limited production fuel cell version too, and which is believed to be unveiled  in about two years’ time.
