The very first Model X units were delivered to their customers at the same time the car was revealed to the public in September.
Those initial examples were the “Founders Series” versions – and now, the range-topping Signature Series Model Xs are arriving to customers across the United States.
Therefore, Tesla is increasing production of its electric SUV to keep up with the already significant demand.
The Signature Series starts from $132,900 and required a $40,000 deposit from customers, many of who placed their orders years ago. It is installed with the large 90kWh battery pack as well as a number of luxury features like heated and cooled leather seats and Tesla’s Autopilot autonomous driving system.
It is reported by Clean Technica that Tesla was slow in delivering Signature Series models due to hold ups with a few suppliers alongside the Californian firm’s efforts to ensure there were no issues with the Founder Series models delivered in late September.
Apparently, every second car currently being produced by Tesla at the moment is a Model X, meaning that up to 1,000 units of the all-electric performance and luxury SUV are rolling out of the factory every week, and production is tipped to increase further throughout 2016.
