Revealed just a few months ago, the Daihatsu Cast is the latest kei car offered by the marque exclusively for the Japanese market.
Now, just ahead of the Tokyo Auto Salon, three aggressive concept versions have been revealed and they certainly give the tiny five-door an entirely new level of flair.
The first model in question has been dubbed the Cast Sport Race Specification. As evidenced by the image above, the car has been painted white and installed with a bright red windscreen and red wide windows. The red theme continues with the front grille and air intakes, gloss wheels with polished chrome outer rims, wing mirrors and even dark red A-, B- and C-pillars.
The front end is particularly crazy due to the extended bumper and the three horizontal strips of LED daytime running lights on each side. There are also dedicated fog lights and bolt on flared wheel arches. A bespoke set of side skirts have also been fitted.
As for the second car, it is the ‘Cast Sport D-Sport Specification’. While not as crazy to look at as the Race Specification with its less-flashy yellow and black paint, it is noteworthy thanks to its tuned suspension setup, bucket seats and even a sports muffler.
Finally we have the ‘Cast Active Off-Road Specification’, created to show off the versatility of the car. Most significantly, the car’s been installed with a set of large off-road tyres on custom 15-inch wheels. A bolder front grille is also present as are larger round fog lights and a skid plate at the bottom of the bumper. A roofbox finishes off the package as does the dark green paint job.
