Underground Racing has become synonymous with producing the world’s fastest Lamborghini Gallardos thanks to its range of twin-turbo upgrade packages.
Beyond the Gallardo, UR also offers a number of comprehensive twin-turbo kits for other supercars, including the always-impressive Lamborghini Aventador.
While the Aventador launched almost five years ago, it’s taken quite some time for any owners to be brave enough to opt for Underground’s twin-turbo package let alone testing such a system to its limits. That recently ended at the No Flyzone ½ mile event in Arizona when a satin black twin-turbo Lamborghini Aventador became the first and fastest to compete in such an event.
During the ½ mile sprint, this Aventador managed to reach an impressive 217 mph or 349.3 km/h, which just so happens to be the top speed of a ‘standard’ Aventador. This example is for from stock however. Alongside the two turbochargers it includes billet connecting rods, CP race pistons, billet flywheel, billet front and rear differentials and billet axles alongside a custom clutch and new ECU.
All up, this Aventador is believed to be pushing out around 1,500 hp. While its 217 mph trap speed is some way off the record 238.6 mph held by a twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan, we expect this Aventador to only get faster as it competes in more and more events.
