With the Super Bowl being responsible for some of the most amazing plays in the history of football throughout the years, Toyota is looking to hitch a ride on that extremely glorious wagon.

The Japanese manufacturer is filming a 60-second ad that will air on February 7th during the biggest sporting event in the US, featuring the all-new Prius. Of course, Toyota knows that reaching the pinnacle of any sport is a very tough task that requires hard work and sacrifice – which is exactly what they’re trying to point out regarding their new Prius.

In fact, they’ve jokingly said that the car might just beat historical performances like we’ve seen in Super Bowl III, XVIII or XLII, because who can say no to a 50-plus miles per gallon car with a sleek new design (that a lot of people find controversial to say the least).

“We can’t wait to show off this Prius on the world’s biggest stage,” said Jack Hollis, Toyota VP of marketing – which may point out to a seriously epic commercial the likes of which we’ve never seen before. At least not when it comes to hybrids.

Of course, Toyota is no rookie when it comes to Super Bowl ads. They’ve previously featured models such as the RAV4, Camry and the Tundra – which famously towed the space shuttle Endeavour during XLVII (2013).

So what can they do for the all-new Prius? Probably something just as epic, though obviously with a lot less towing and a lot more future-proofing.
