For most manufacturers, Northern Sweden is chosen as the ideal place for cold weather testing. Of course, they’re aware of spy photographers and make sure their prototypes are camouflaged.
Renault is no exception and tried to hide its upcoming Megane Sport Tourer, the estate version of the five-door hatch, from prying eyes, even putting a Megane GT alongside, but it was too late.
The Sport Tourer is due for its debut at the Paris Auto Show in September and is identical to the all-new Megane up to the C-pillar, keeping the same dimensions apart from overall length.
This, from what we can tell from the images, will be increased due to the extender rear overhang that will offer a generous luggage space. A lifestyle estate, it sure is not…
Engine line-up for the Sport Tourer will also mirror that of the Megane hatch, which comes with four petrol and five diesel units. Customers will be able to choose according to their preferences, whether it be the extra-frugal dCi 110 or the hot 202 hp GT that comes with a seven speed, dual clutch transmission and the 4Control four-wheel steering.
