The Volkswagen Beetle is not only one of the highest selling cars of all time, but also one of the most iconic.
Launched in the mid-1940s after a request by Adolf Hitler, the Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche (yes, that Porsche) and well over 20 million units have been produced worldwide, none quite as insane as this example.
Taking the iconic body of the Beetle, the following enthusiasts removed all the car’s mechanical components and fitted it with a supercharged V8 engine delivering around 800 hp. When combined with super spongy suspension, the car tackles every piece of normally-tricky terrain with absolute ease.
Filmed speeding through the streets of San Diego, this crazy Beetle might not be as expensive as a Lamborghini but we can certainly imagine it getting more attention than one.
