Ahead of this weekend’s 24 Hours of Daytona, BMW has unveiled two special anniversary liveries for the M6 GTLMs cars that will compete in the gruelling endurance race.
Entered by Bobby Rahal’s team, the M6 GTLM race cars pay tribute to Munich’s past racers to honor it’s 100th anniversary.
Number 25’s paint scheme includes images of the famous BMW 3.0 CSL, the BMW M1 from 1980-1981, the V12 LMR that claimed class wins at Le Mans and Sebring in 1999 and the 2011-12 M3 GT from the American Le Mans Series.
Meanwhile, the second car, number 100, has an intriguing 3D effect reflective vinyl which sparkles woth different colors at night.
Both of these liveries will be maintained throughout the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquadt said: “The start of the IWSC season also marks the beginning of a year of special anniversaries. I hope the fans like the special liveries on our M6 GTLMs to mark the centenary of BMW and our successful history of motor racing in North America.”
