Aside from being one of the world’s most versatile minivans, the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica also benefits from having seriously talented marketing people pushing its agenda.

While all of these videos serve their particular purpose, whether it’s detailing the Pacifica’s design or its engineering, the spot entitled ‘Real Life’ is undoubtedly the driving force behind the car’s persona, pushing a couple of highly sensitive buttons for consumers.

Aside from having excellent camerawork and soundtrack, the video relies on a very clever narration which points out how this car is actually intended for the real world and not the “world” we generally tend to create for ourselves online.

The message is quite simple actually. By owning a 2017 Pacifica, you’ll be removed from a world of twitter feeds, posts, editing and so on, but simply be caught up in your own life and all of its practical and joyful moments – that you tend to spend with your wife/husband and kids.

So yes, in a sense, the time you spend with the Pacifica, is something you’ll “keep for yourself”, because as Chrysler points out, that’s what “real life” is all about – and it’s not like we can argue against that.

As for how good the all-new Pacifica is, well, judging by the fact that Chrysler is calling it the world’s first 80 mpg (2.9 l/100km) hybrid minivan, we might assume that it’s pretty good – at selling itself. This is 2016 and you can’t separate yourself from your rivals just by being more roomy or more potent in a straight line. Now, it’s almost all about on-board tech and saving the planet one fuel-efficient car at a time.

The Pacifica will still have to battle it out against the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, KIA Sedona and a couple of other models that won’t be so happy as to go down without a fight. But considering everything we’ve learned from the press release earlier today, we’d say that Chrysler’s new family hauler might just end up dominating its segment.
