The Blue Oval has just dropped its official sales and financial figures from 2015 which saw the marque hit profitability in Europe for the first time since 2011.

Throughout last year, the American brand sold a total of 6.635 million vehicles, 1.53 million of which were delivered to customers across Europe. In North America, over 3 million sales were recorded (the highest number since 2005) and in the Asia-Pacific region, there were 1.5 million sales.

Combined with rising sales in the Middle East and Africa, Ford’s pre-tax profits increased from $7.3 billion in 2014 to $10.8 billion, with $8.8 billion coming from vehicle sales and the rest were accounted for by Ford Credit that offers a range of financing options among other services.

All told, Ford’s global sales last year were 0.2 per cent higher than in 2014. This comes despite falling sales across South America due to the deterioration of the local business environment.
