Infiniti has become just the latest in a long line of automakers celebrating record-breaking sales performances for 2015.
For the first time in its history, Infiniti managed to sell over 200,000 vehicles in a 12 month period, totaling 215,520 units, a 16 per cent increase over 2014. As if that wasn’t enough, December 2015 was also Infiniti’s most successful month ever with just over 23,100 vehicles sold. With this 17 per cent rise over December 2014, Infiniti has had 16 consecutive months of year-on-year sales and deliveries growth.
The vast majority of Infiniti cars sold last year were across the Americas where 147,600 were sold, 14 per cent more than 2014. Of that figure, the United States accounted for 133,500 vehicles while sales in Canada reached a record 11,300 and in Mexico, they climbed by 23 per cent to 1,800 units.
China remains Infiniti’s second largest market and last year, helped contribute 40,200 sales which is 34 per cent over 2014. Considering the slow-down in demand for premium models in China, this result is particularly impressive and makes Infiniti the fastest growing premium brand in China.
Across Western Europe, 7,000 Infinitis were sold, a 45 per cent gain over 2014. The A&O region consisting of Australia, Taiwan, Korea and other Asia Pacific markets remains relatively small for Infiniti with 5,700 vehicles sold.
The company’s most successful model is the Q50 with 78,800 being purchased. Meanwhile, sales of the QX60 have hit 54,800 and a total of 19,300 QX80 models were sold.
