As the January 11 release date of the 10th generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class edges ever closer, we’re starting to learn more and more about the car and now, it’s time to find out about the car’s advanced headlamps.

They will utilize the German marque’s Multibeam LED headlight technology and each headlight will be made up of 84 LEDs, all of which are individually-controlled. This all means that the light path of the car’s high beam can be delicately controlled to ensure it doesn’t affect oncoming traffic. This ultimately means that the headlights could be permanently left on high beam without blinding other road users, no matter of the climatic or road conditions.

These new headlights will only be one part making up the all-new E-Class. We’ve already seen that the car will have an interior very similar to that of the range-topping S-Class and also be available with two 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Alternatively, owners will be able to opt for analog dials and a smaller central screen.

Elsewhere, the car will have many autonomous driving functions. For example, it will be able to automatically adjust to local speed limits, have active brake assist and the capability of braking itself in emergency situations and even be capable of remote parking through the owner’s smartphone app.

Engine wise, a number of inline-sixes will be introduced with the E-Class.

In case you missed it, the first official exterior photos of the new 2017 E-Class can be viewed here.
