With an enhanced look and optimized technology, SLK’s successor, the SLC, will arrive in dealerships across Europe this April.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLC is offered in the entry-level SLC 180, powered by a 1.6-liter unit rated at 156PS (154hp) and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of torque, which starts from €34,926.50 ($38,105), in the German market, followed by the SLC 200, with its 2.0-liter and 184PS (181hp) & 300Nm (221lb-ft) of torque, priced at €39,805.50 ($43,428).
Next in the lineup is the SLC 300, which uses a 2.0-liter engine producing 245PS (242hp) and 370Nm (273lb-ft) of torque that starts at €46,380.25 ($50,602). The only diesel available right now is the SLC 250 d, with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder that delivers 204PS (201hp) and 500Nm (369lb-ft) of torque, that starts at €43,524.25 ($47,486).
The range-topping SLC 43 AMG costs €59,886.75 ($65,337). It sends 367PS (362hp) and 520Nm (384lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels from a 3.0-liter V6, and it needs just 4.7sec to complete the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint, on its way to a 250km/h (155mph) electronically limited top speed.
All versions of the roadster come with the diamond radiator grille, LED taillights, and an extensive array of standard equipment such as the Active Brake Assist, previously known as the Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Attention Assist, multi-function sports steering wheel in Nappa leather, air conditioning, Audio 20 CD and panoramic vario-roof.
Options include an €1,558.90 ($1,700) LED Intelligent Light System, the Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus for €119 ($130) and Magic Sky Control for the panoramic vario-roof that costs €2,641.80 ($2,883), a unique feature for the SLC.
