In the coming months, Volvo will launch an R-Design version of its new S90 luxury sedan, but before it does, here’s an early look of a development tester we spied in Sweden.
While it doesn’t sport the full package of exterior goods, it does come with the more aggressive-looking R-Design front bumper featuring revised cooling vents, different fog lamp housings and a deeper integrated spoiler.
By the time it enters production, it should obtain bigger wheels with a bespoke styling, more prominent rocker panels, a rear diffuser, satin aluminum mirror caps, chrome exhaust tips, and possibly, a discrete boot lid spoiler.
Like all R-Design models in Volvo’s range, the S90 will also be re-trimmed on the inside with sportier seats, steering wheel and dashboard décor.
Since Polestar, which Volvo integrated into its operations last year, has plans to develop a high-performance edition of the S90, the R-Design package will leave the car’s engines untouched, but it might include a sportier lowered suspension.
