It’s not a contest, but an auction held by RM Sotheby’s during which a pristine Ferrari 599 GTO will go under the hammer.
The Italian supercar was produced in just 599 units and it’s a rare sight indeed, especially since approximately 125 were originally delivered to the United States.
This particular model is chassis number 183219 and it was bought and registered by its only owner in December 2011. It wears the Bianco Fuji special color combination, along with the trademark black roof panel, at an extra cost of approximately $28,000.
The seller talks about its independent front and rear wishbone suspension system with the SCM magnetorhological damping, four-wheel carbon ceramic disc brakes and six-speed manual automated F1 transmission, which might not be the desired manual from the more common 599 GTB, but it still does the trick of sending 670hp from the 6.0-liter V12 engine to the rear wheels.
Besides the car, which traveled only 1,500 miles (2,400km) throughout its lifetime, the buyer will also get the original books and tools. If you are one of the lucky few who can afford it, then the Arizona auction, held between January 28 and 29, is the place to bid for it.
