Volvo had told us to wait until February 18 for the reveal of their all-new V90, but apparently, the internet had other plans, as the first official images of the luxury estate have surfaced.
Based on the new S90 sedan, the V90 adopts a similar rear end styling to Volvo’s Concept Estate model from the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, with distinctive ‘L’ shaped rear lights that extend to the car’s roof, along with a slanted rear window that give it a less boxy look than the V70 it essentially replaces.
From the B-column and forward, it retains the same design with the S90 sedan from which it borrows its powertrain lineup that should include the 407hp (413PS) T8 ‘Twin Engine’ plug-in hybrid and 320hp (325PS) 2.0-liter turbo petrol, and the 2.0-liter 190hp (193PS) D4 and 235hp (238PS) D5 diesel engines.
Volvo’s new load-lugger will be displayed in public for the first time at next month’s Geneva Auto Show, possibly making it to the New York Auto Show a few weeks later for its North American premiere.
