Reports about a saloon version of the RS3 are nothing new, but now sources claim it has been finally been given the go ahead by Audi.
According to Quattro World, during the Audi Summit for Audi of America employees company executives confirmed that the model will see the light of day and be available in the United States.
It is suggested that when the car arrives, it will have a tweaked design compared to the RS3 Sportback consisting of new headlights and a revised front grille, potentially inspired by the A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept.
The turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder is said to be tuned from the RS3 Sportback’s 362 hp to over 400 hp, giving it enough performance to match the BMW M3. Power will still be sent through all four wheels through a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission.
Finally, the report claims the RS3 Sedan will become available in the US market in late 2017 as a 2018MY model.
