Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, Italy’s Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera will introduce a new car at the Geneva Motor Show.

With almost no info on the new model, except for the fact that it will be “a daring open sports car“, the firm looks back at its rich heritage and wants “to resume the DNA of a company like Touring in the design of new projects; nothing is better than history“, as Head of Design Louis de Fabribeckers said.

The vehicle, which will be the first one with a similar body style since Touring resumed production in 2007, came to life using state of the art computer technology during development, testing and manufacturer, by a team of “bespoke tailors“.

Besides the Geneva Show, Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera will celebrate 90 years since it was established in Milan, back on March 25, 1926, at various events, including a special class at the Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance and a presentation at the Royal Automobile Club, along with the publication of a new book on its history.

One of the models created by the Italian firm and rumored over the years to sport a production version is the MINI Superleggera Roadster, but at this point, we cannot be sure that this is what Touring Superleggera is referring to.
