Ford revealed the updated Kuga SUV at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, carrying more tech and adding a new engine into the mix.
The new Ford Kuga now features a refreshed exterior that brings it in-line with the Ford Edge, thanks to the new rectangular grille, the more muscular bonnet and the updated lights all-around.
The car was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as Ford wants to make the transition from being just an automotive company to an auto and mobility brand, leading the way in the connectivity, autonomous driving and mobility areas.
Ford’s mid-size SUV now comes with the latest SYNC3 infotainment system which makes its debut in Europe and new safety features like the Perpendicular Parking technology that helps drivers park hands-free in spaces alongside other cars, an updated version of the Active City Stop collision avoidance system and the Adaptive Front Lighting System for optimized visibility in low light.
“New Kuga offers cutting-edge new features and technologies that will help drivers stay connected, comfortable, safe and stylish on the road,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president of Product Development. “The sophisticated redesign has given Kuga a fresh and modern feel, while SYNC3 enables drivers to communicate with their vehicle and connected devices in seamless ways that would have seemed impossible just a few years ago.”
The also updated interior now offers better quality and a more ergonomic layout, featuring fewer and more easily distinguishable buttons and switches.
As for the new FWD-only 120PS 1.5-litre TDCi engine which replaces the old entry-level 2.0-litre TDCi unit, Ford is targeting to offer a combined 64.2mpg UK (4.4lt/100km) and 115g/km of CO2.
