An image that may have been taken during an Audi presentation purportedly reveals the production RS3 Sedan.
The guys over at Worldcarfans who found the picture on Instagram@mercmilan06 (and which was removed just minutes before we shared this post) are uncertain whether it’s the RS3 or RS4, but the hood lines seem to confirm that it’s an A3 Sedan-based model, as the new A4 has a clam-shell bonnet design.
What it doesn’t settle with absolute certainty is if the picture is actually real or not.
In any case, it follows earlier news today that during the Audi Summit for the company’s American employees, executives confirmed that an RS3 Sedan is coming.
It will likely get the same 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five as the existing RS3 Sportback offered in Europe, possibly tweaked to deliver more than the former’s 367PS (362hp) and 465Nm (343 lb-ft) of peak torque, paired to Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive and seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission.
* Update: a second photo has appeared on Instagram which confirms it’s the RS3 sedan
