Capable of a 7:28 time around the Nurburgring, there’s no doubting that the all-new BMW M4 GTS is fast; but does it sound any good?
Well, Carfection recently had the opportunity to check out the M4 GTS and were fortunate enough to be among the first to hear it start-up and rev.
Outfitted with a new titanium exhaust system, the fastest ever BMW road car is certainly louder than the standard car and has a more intoxicating burble. Evidently though, even the geniuses at BMW’s M division have been unable to make sounds as good as its V8-powered predecessor, the M3 GTS.
Considering the performance that the new car is capable of however, we can’t imagine that turning buyers away.
Power from the twin-turbo S55 six has been increased significantly from the standard 425 hp to 493 hp at 6,250 rpm and 442 lb-ft of torque between 4,000 and 5,000 rpm. These figures allow for a 0-96 km/h (60 mph) time of 3.7 seconds and a 305 km/h (190 mph) top speed.
