The Big Apple hosts another international event for the automotive industry, starting March 23 for the Press and opening its gates to the public two days later.

It is true that, right after Geneva is not the best of times for such an event. On the other hand, it does take place in the US of A and certain brands have some interesting debuts for the city that never sleeps.

Mazda has already announced a world premiere that may, or may not, be the new MX-5 Roadster Coupe, and Subaru will unveil the all-new Impreza sedan and hatch.

We’re also waiting to find out what this Nissan GT-R rear lights stand for and what exactly this new Prius teaser is about. Speaking of which, Toyota is probably the one coming on strongest of all, as it will also launch the new generation of its Highlander SUV and the revamped Scion FR-S GT 86, though choosing the concept of the C-HR instead of the production version that’ll make it to the States one year after being launched in Europe.

With sporty SUVs being all the rage, Mercedes-Benz has picked NYC to blow the covers off the GLC Coupe and the nip-and-tuck’ed CLA. Hyundai, on the other hand, seems ready to enter uncharted waters with its Genesis 3-Series rival, even in concept form, while Kia is on track to reveal the 2017 Cadenza.

This is US soil, though, so it’s only fitting that the 640hp Camaro ZL1 and the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will flying the Star-Spangled Banner. It doesn’t get much more “American Iron” than that, does it?
