While the Opel Astra K has been crowned “2016 European Car of the Year“, the road to “2016 World Car of the Year” award continues.
The countdown begun almost six months ago, on September 15, with the initial nominations made at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The list was eventually shortened at the end of January and it was reduced furthermore in Geneva to just 3 competitors for each of the 5 different categories.
At the New York Auto Show, which will open its gates for the Press on March 23, will be the place where the big winners will be announced, as by then, the jury made out of 73 international automotive journalists would have selected their favorites, based on their experience with each candidate as part of their professional work.
