Unlike Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera’s Disco Volante Spyder, which adopts a retro-looking body, Italdesign Giugiaro’s creation is on the opposite end.

Named the GTZero and presented at the Geneva Auto Show, the car pays tribute to the “nearly fifty years of Italdesign“, as the coachbuilder explains, being inspired by the 1997 Alfa Romeo Scighera with its active flaps on the bonnet, while its long front end, pronounced fenders and pintched tail pay tribute to the 1995 Daewoo Bucrane.

The Gran Turismo is based on a modular monocoque carbon frame with integrated batteries and it is propelled by three electric motors, two on the front axle and one in the rear, that develop 483 HP (490 PS). Four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering are found on the car that promises a range of about 500 km (310 miles), a charging time up to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes and a top speed limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Continuing the futuristic look of the GTZero, the cabin features a minimal layout with no buttons or controls, except for the parking brake, as all features, including the electric seat controls and even the door release, are accessible through the screens with multitouch control. Driver information is displayed “just like in the wings of a theater“, on four screens arranged at three different depths.
