Ford announced the Track Attack program, a performance driving school that gives owners of the Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R the chance to understand how to drive their cars on track.
The complimentary program is offered to all owners of MY2015 and MY2016 models by Ford Performance Racing in Tooele, Utah from this April.
Designed to address drivers of all skill levels, the program will allow them to fully exploit the potential of their car’s performance and handling characteristics in a safe environment under professional supervision, including braking, shifting and cornering techniques with focus on the particular dynamics of the GT350 and GT350R.
“GT350 is a car that needs to be experienced on a closed road course,” said Jim Owens, Ford Performance marketing manager. “The program is designed for owners to learn how to get the most out of their car so they can appreciate the unique performance Shelby GT350 delivers, while also gaining driving skills and experience. It’s going to be a ton of fun.”
Students will participate in both classroom and on-track driving tutorials with Ford’s instructors, with the program lasting one day. Owners do not need to bring their own car while they can opt for a second track day, as well as additional driving and non-driving programs for a cost.
“Regardless of a person’s driving ability, this will be an unbelievable experience,” said Dan McKeever, president, Ford Performance Racing School. From the weekend track warrior to the car collector, this program provides the skills needed to really enjoy Shelby GT350 Mustang in the environment for which it is designed.”
