Designed and produced in Mexico, the Vuhl 05 wants to steal some of the attention away from the BAC Mono, KTM X-Bow and Ariel Atom.
The manufacturer states that 40 percent of the model’s components are sourced from the United Kingdom, where it went on sale last year, from £59,995 (equivalent to $76,080), through the Bespoke Performance dealer, following its official presentation in 2013 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With a 2.0-liter four-banger EcoBoost engine taken from the Ford Focus ST and tuned up to 289 PS (285 HP) and 420 Nm (310lb-ft) of torque, the automaker promises a power-to-weight ratio of 400BHP per tonne and a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration in 3.7 seconds. Top speed is 241 km/h (150 mph).
Visitors to the 2016 London Motor Show will get to see the Mexican sports car on display, celebrating its debut in England’s capital. The show will open its gates with the press and trade day, on May 5, followed by a VIP event to celebrate the event’s first edition since 2008. Tickets are already available from £15 ($19).
