Mercedes revealed the Coupe version of their GLC in New York, adding one more crossover to their wide range.
In a segment that’s been receiving more and more of these lifestyle crossovers, Mercedes’ answer to the X4 has a much more easily-accepted design; albeit one that blatantly copies BMW’s concept of a coupe-SUV.
Nevertheless, the fluid lines of the bodywork make the GLC Coupe look way more well-proportioned than its main Bavarian rival and maybe even its bigger brother, the GLE Coupe.
North American customers will be able to choose between two petrol-powered versions only: the 241hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline GLC300, and the 362hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline GLC43 AMG. The latter is able of a 0-60mph in less than 5 seconds while both models are offered with a nine-speed automatic as standard.
The European market will get a much wider range with eight variants: a diesel 170PS (168hp) GLC 220d and 204PS (201hp) GLC 250d, petrol 211PS (208hp) GLC 250, the 2.0L petrol-electric hybrid GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé with 320PS (316hp), and the aforementioned GLC 43 AMG.
