Before taking to the track for the 2nd round of pre-season testing in Barcelona, Scuderia Toro Rosso unveiled their 2016 F1 car in its new livery.
Toro Rosso actually presented the STR11 back in late February, with a temporary livery, leading to speculation over how their 2016 car might end up looking.
As it turns out, it looks remarkably similar to last year’s car, and it’s the car itself that’s very different.
“We are proud of this car and what it represents in terms of the work that went into designing and building it in record time in our new facility in Faenza”, said team principal Franz Tost. “I am particularly pleased that 2016 sees a return to Ferrari power, with everyone looking forward to working once again with our friends from Maranello. None of this would be possible without the invaluable support of our partners and sponsors; Red Bull, Sapinda, Estrella Galicia.”
The moment of truth for the STR11, just like everyone else, will be in the Melbourne season opener, when the team can finally asses how their Ferrari-powered car fairs against the rest. In the end, that’s what truly matters.
