Riding a motorcycle has always been frowned upon by some individuals, but things got too far when a man of the law voluntary tried to cause harm to a pack of (presumably) innocent bike riders.
A video depicting a Forth Worth officer spraying pepper mace into oncoming traffic has recently surfaced on the internet, garnering more than 200.000 views in 15 hours.
Officer W. Figueroa, who was taken off patrol and put on administrative duties until the police investigation concludes, can be seen emerging from his vehicle with what appears to be a canister of pepper spray in his right hand and starts using it “making” the oncoming riders.
The video was shot by Jack Kinney, one of the motorcyclists, who recorded it using his helmet-mounted video camera.
“It’s the last thing I would expect to see”, Kinney said, according to a CBS report.
The red pick-up truck pulled over by Figueroa (as seen in the video) was driven by Brittany Botello, who was riding along the bikers as part of the same group, while the passengers in the car were shooting videos of the bikers with their cellphones. Botello says that before the officers approached her car, her friends started coughing, stating:
“I thought it was sand up off the bikes that was making everyone choke and stuff, but it ended up being the mace.”
According to Chase Stone, president of an East Texas motorcycle club known as the East Texas Heat, there were an estimated 200 motorcyclists attending the run. Some drivers reported seeing the riders doing various stunts. Either way, the officer’s action is unpardonable.
