The most practical version of Mercedes’ new W213 generation E-Class, the new Wagon, has been filmed testing out in the open again.

The covered bits are where we will see the most significant upgrades on top of the already available saloon, as from the front fascia and up to the C-pillars, the car will remain identical to its four-door sibling.

Besides the increased headroom for the rear passengers, the extra space in the boot and the tweaked design, which will make it look like a larger C-Class Estate, the model will add a self-leveling rear suspension, while at its heart, it will carry the same 4- and 6-pot mills currently found on the four-door E-Class,  joined eventually by a 4.0-liter V8 in the high-performance AMG E 63 Estate.

Recent reports indicate towards a summer unveil for the second member of the three-pointed star’s executive family, ahead of its expected public debut this fall, at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Order books should open before its presentation, while the first units will be seen on the road in January, 2017.
