After the very positive feedback of the 2012 Sport Turismo concept, Porsche will finally add a sexy wagon to the new Panamera’s range.
Now, the shooting brake version of the upcoming Panamera II was spotted being tested at the Green Hell.
Porsche is using some sort of wrap on the headlights and taillights and small plastic covers on the body to hide the final details from our spies, but the overall shape does look near identical to that of the concept’s.
The new generation of the Panamera sits on the fresh MSB platform, allowing for weight savings and better fuel efficiency. The new architecture will be accompanied by a new family of turbocharged V6 and V8 engines as well. We expect Porsche to offer the same powertrain range in the Sport Turismo with the regular model, which will also include a plug-in hybrid variant as well.
Porsche believes the launch of a second bodystyle for the Panamera will also appeal to customers that need the extra practicality but don’t want to buy an SUV like, say, the Cayenne.
Rumors suggest that the new Panamera will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show, with the estate version likely to follow in early 2017.
