Celebrating its arrival in New Zealand, Aston Martin’s track-only beast, the Vulcan, has been taken out on the Highlands Motorsport Park for a few fast laps.
The new footage follows the announcement made by the brand’s chief, Andy Palmer, over a conversion kit that will make it road-legal, with work to be carried out by a company unrelated to Aston Martin, for an as of yet, undisclosed price.
With just 24 units to be produced, the Vulcan is one of the most exclusive high-performance machines out there, sitting in the same league as the Ferrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR. It may not be as powerful as the two hypercars, but its 7.0-liter naturally aspirated V12, producing 820 HP, is of a dying breed.
The supercar is built around the carbon fiber tub of the One-77, sharing its 2,791 mm long wheelbase, benefiting from pushrod suspension with anti-dive geometry, adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars on both axles, variable traction control, driver-adjustable ABS, Brembo racing calipers with carbon ceramic disc brakes and integral limited-slip differential. Each of the 24 examples carries a price tag of $2.3 million.
