Evo magazine did it again, racing four Renault hot hatches from different eras against each other Best Motoring-style, backed up by some really funny commentary.

Here we have a 1985 5 GT Turbo, a 1992 Clio Cup, a 2000 Clio Cup and of course the latest version of the same model.

With the slower cars given a head start, it’s battle between some really fine gentlemen, including evo’s own Jethro Bovingdon and Dicky Meaden, Le Mans winner Andy Wallace and Sebring winner Marino Franchitti.

Set at the Rockingham circuit, this battle will not only remind you of the golden age of hot hatches but also will give a good laugh too, seeing these little Renaults being driven right and over their limits.

Which one will win? And more importantly, which one are you going to look for in the used car classifieds after the video?
