Europeans in search of a new pickup truck will be able to add the Fiat Fullback, which is a rebadged version of the 2016 Mitsubishi L200, in their list, starting from May .
Fiat has yet to announce pricing and final specifications of the pickup truck that measures 5,285 mm (208 in) in length, 1,815 mm (71.5 in) in width and 1,780 mm (70 in) in height, offering a payload of up to 1,045 kg (2304 lbs), meaning 5 kg (11 lbs) less than the L200, and a towing capacity of up to 3,090 kg (6,812 lbs).
It will be offered in both left- and right-hand drive versions, with a single 2.4-liter turbo diesel mill, in two outputs, 150 HP and 180 HP, connected to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic. In the United Kingdom, four-wheel drive will be standard, while in Germany and other European markets, the entry-level model will have to do with two-wheel drive.
The Fiat Fullback will compete in the medium-duty pickup truck segment and it will rival the likes of the Nissan Navara NP300, Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Volkswagen Amarok. Fiat will display it in the UK at The Commercial Vehicle Show 2016, in Birmingham’s NEC, between April 26 and 28.
