The brand’s local joint venture, Dongfeng Citroen, will reportedly pull the veils off an electric version of the C-Elysee at the Beijing Auto Show.
Offered in the same four-door body style as the current model, it will be dubbed E-Elysee, according to Autocar, and it will pack a lithium-ion battery with a fast charging function, which will offer it a total driving range of up to 250 km/h (155 miles).
Charging its battery will take approximately six hours using a regular household socket or just 30 minutes using a fast charger. The electrified compact sedan will be offered alongside the newly launched e-Mehari, but further details on it remain unknown and will be announced tomorrow, at the show’s opening day.
Besides the E-Elysee, Dongfeng Citroen will also display the new flagship C6, an executive saloon which measures 4.96 meters in length. The car was reportedly created by the design teams located in Shanghai and Paris, with its primarily focus being the Asian market, so it’s unlikely it will be launched in Europe.
Previous info indicated towards the use of PSA’s EMP2 platform when it comes to the new C6, which will probably use 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines, while design-wise, it could be influenced by the Metropolis Concept shown six years ago.
