Maserati isn’t the only brand that has Mercedes, BMW and Audi, among others, in its sight with a twin-turbo Levante, as Jaguar has similar plans for the F-Pace.
According to Car&Driver, the firm’s SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division is workινγ on a high-performance variant of the F-Pace, which will be powered by the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine.
It will be available in multiple stages of tune, with the most powerful being the 575 PS unit from the new F-Type SVR.
Chances are the SVR badge will be used on such a model that will target the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63. Prototypes of the high-performance F-Pace have, allegedly, already hit the road in the United Kingdom and could be launched next year.
Development of new SVR-badged models from Jaguar could continue with the introduction of an XE powered by the same supercharged V8. The high-performance compact sedan will go against the likes of the BMW M3, Mercedes-AMG C63 and Cadillac ATS-V, but an official decision has yet to be taken.
