Mercedes-Benz will use the 2016 Beijing Auto Show to present the second addition to its new E-Class family, the long wheelbase version.
No other were offered by the company, but from previous scoops and reports, we know that the new E-Class LWB was developed specifically with the Chinese market in mind and it will be sold locally only.
On top of the regular E-Class Sedan, the extended model will be 5.5 inches (140 mm) longer, translating into an overall length of 199.3 in (5,062 mm), with its wheelbase expanding from 115.3 in (2,939 mm) to 128.8 in (3,068 mm). Rear seat passengers will have more legroom and will enjoy the same luxury features found on the regular E-Class, along with extra equipment, which will better suit the Chinese market.
There’s no word on the engine lineup yet, but the 3-pointed star will shed light in all chapters next Monday, April 25, when the Beijing show’s doors open for the media. Besides the stretched E-Class, Mercedes-Benz will also take the GLC Coupe and C63 AMG Coupe to Beijing, to celebrate their Asian debut.
