With Hoonigan Racing Division drivers Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud behind the wheel of the new Focus RS RX, you know you’re bound to see some overly spectacular drifts.
This is footage of the RS RX’s first test and the car sounds exactly as you’d imagine a 600 HP EcoBoost-powered Ford hatchback would sound when pushed to the limit. The engine is also good for a whooping 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque, working through a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
Other mods include the wide-body kit, the custom underbody protection, SLA-type suspension, Brembo 4-piston calipers and the WRX-spec AVON race tires wrapped around the 17″ WRX wheels.
The testing location is in Portugal, which is where the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship kicks off at the Montalegre track. The calendar will then take the Focus RS RX across the globe, concluding with the World RX of Argentina at the Autodromo Rosario on November 25th.
If you’re a Ford Focus RS fan or just curious to see how Ken and Andreas do, make sure to follow all the action on the FIA RX official website. Last year, Andreas Bakkerud finished 4th overall with 232 points in his heavily modified Fiesta ST.
