Several days ago, leaked images with the dashboard layout of the upcoming 3008 revealed a futuristic design and now Peugeot has decided to shed some light in this chapter by unveiling the next-gen i-Cockpit.

With its futuristic appearance and new technology, the Peugeot i-Cockpit takes advantage of a fully customizable digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch high-res screen positioned in the driver’s line of sight to display critical info.

Sitting on top of the dashboard is a new tablet-like 8-inch touchscreen, in the center of the instrument panel, which is part of the infotainment system with new interactive technology and increased responsiveness. Both information screens will display 3D navigation system, with real-time traffic info from Tom Tom Traffic, and occupants will have voice recognition and commands at their disposal. There is also automatic text message management reading, drafting and sending messages hands-free, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility for the center screen.

Fresh tech and features are set in a new center console, which has been redesigned using better materials. Another extra touch is the seat-massage function and Peugeot also mentions “two atmospheric settings“, both completely customizable, offered at no extra cost: “Boost” for dynamic driving and “Relax” for a calmer driving experience.

The first Peugeot vehicle expected to adopt the second generation Peugeot i-Cockpit is the new 3008, which could debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, in early October and arrive at dealerships by the end of the year.
