A precious metal in the name only, Porsche’s new Cayenne Platinum special edition models want to ease some of that pain you feel when going through their option guides.

Available in Europe on the base 262PS Cayenne Diesel and the 333PS Cayenne S E-Hybrid, and in the USA and Canada, on the base 296hp Cayenne V6 and the 328hp Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the Platinum editions are tarted-up with more standard kit “at a very attractive price” – according to Porsche, at least.

All models ride on beefy 20-inch wheels in RS Spyder design that are housed in wider wheel arches and get the high-gloss exterior package, while their interiors gain leather eight-way electrically adjustable sport seats with Alcantara center panels, Porsche crest on the head rests, and stainless steel door sills with illuminated “Platinum Edition” lettering.

Also standard are the Bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Power Steering Plus, ParkAssist with a camera, automatic anti-glare exterior and rear-view mirrors and dark-tinted privacy glass.

Don’t think you’ll completely get away from paying for any extras, as only solid black and white paint finishes are standard, with Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, or Rhodium Silver metallic paints being optionally available.

Porsche won’t say how much it’s going to charge for the Platinum Editions just yet, but all models are expected to go on sale later in the year.
